Thierry Henry suffered a torn groin and stomach muscle while playing PSV in the Emirates Stadium and will be out for the remainder of the season.
Henry was sent for a scan and the results have prompted the club to draw a line under his season.
Arsenal bowed out of the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League this month and with the Premiership effectively out of reach, manager Arsene Wenger has opted not to take any risks with Henry.
“Thierry Henry will be out for a minimum of three months,” said Wenger.
“Unfortunately this means he will now miss the rest of this season both domestically and internationally, but we are confident that he will be ready for the start of next season.”
